Firefighters in Washington state go out of their way to finish delivering Instacart orders after the driver was injured in a car accident.

In Washington state, a man who worked as an Instacart driver was involved in a car accident while completing orders. Fortunately, he came out of it unharmed, but his car was damaged. Since there were Instacart orders still in progress, firefighters (1) from the Rescue 66 team at Central Pierce Fire & Rescue swept in to help finish delivering the orders.

There was a post on Facebook which included a photo of three firefighters holding Instacart bags. The post said, “[w]ithout hesitation, the Rescue 66 crew stepped in, gathered the groceries, and completed the delivery themselves. It was a small gesture that made a big difference for a grateful community member and a reminder that serving our community sometimes means going beyond emergency response.”

This kind gesture from these first responders shows the power of community and that the world is a much better place when people come together to help out others in times of need. It is a powerful reminder of the decency and humanity in our world and that even a few people can make a big difference. Commenters on the Facebook post said, “[t]hat is amazing!! Thank you Rescue 66 for going above and beyond for our community members.”
